Project Brief

Toastmasters partnered with Konabos to modernize its digital landscape amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategic roadmap developed provided a clear vision for technology investments and emphasized optimizing internal processes. This initiative ensured that Toastmasters could adapt to changing market demands, maintaining a competitive edge in the educational sector.

Challenge

Toastmasters International faced significant disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in an outdated and unsupported technology stack. Uncertainty surrounded the decision to upgrade legacy systems versus adopting a modern, composable technology stack. Additionally, a lack of data and metrics hindered the development of a comprehensive customer experience (CX) roadmap, complicating their ability to identify effective solutions. 

Our Approach

Konabos conducted an extensive analysis of Toastmasters’ operations through research and audits. We created a Current State Analysis document detailing existing personnel, processes, and technology. Our team developed a two- and five-year Future State Roadmap and Gantt chart to clarify the necessary improvement steps. By prioritizing strategy and process changes before technology adoption, we ensured future investments aligned with Toastmasters’ goals, allowing them to identify potential challenges and streamline operations. 

Results

Our collaboration led to improved operational efficiency, allowing Toastmasters to optimize workflows and reduce waste. Enhanced communication fostered better teamwork and member-club relationships. The detailed roadmap provided clear guidance for implementing CX improvements, including necessary milestones and resources. The Current State Analysis document facilitated quicker and more consistent onboarding of new hires and vendors. Quick wins identified by Konabos led to immediate improvements in member engagement through various marketing and UX enhancements.
