As a national accounting association, the client aims to unify the accounting profession and set global standards for best practices and ethics. With increased customer demand and a shift in business focus, they recognized the necessity to reassess their information architecture and content strategy. The goal was to create relevant, easily accessible content and implement effective measurement mechanisms. Konabos developed a comprehensive migration process, executed website upgrades, and optimized the site's structure to enhance user experience.

The client faced multiple challenges, including the need to prioritize and reorganize over 10,000 pieces of content according to a new brand and revised user personas. They had to meet strict timelines alongside a competing Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance deadline. Additionally, non-technical accountants and subject matter experts struggled with SEO concepts, and the content creation process was slow and fraught with bottlenecks.
To address these challenges, Konabos conducted an SEO audit and centered the information architecture around user personas, using pillar content to group similar items. We interviewed each content team to review their processes, identifying inefficiencies and duplicate steps. Recommendations were made to utilize a Content Hub for expedited approvals and publishing across channels. An SEO workshop was also conducted to educate non-technical writers on SEO fundamentals, alongside the design of a comprehensive 301 redirect strategy.
The project resulted in less than 7% SEO attrition during the content migration. Over 100 content creators received coaching on SEO fundamentals, supported by the creation of an on-demand training module for future onboarding. Additionally, we identified a significant content trend regarding the terminology shift from “sustainable” to “regenerative” business practices. Recommendations included merging two newsletters into a single publication and consolidating a separate domain under the main domain.
