Project Brief

SickKids Foundation, a Canadian nonprofit dedicated to pediatric healthcare and research, plays a vital role in raising funds for advancing pediatric healthcare through pioneering research, patient care, and robust educational programs. To elevate its impact, the Foundation sought a digital transformation aimed at amplifying its online presence, simplifying the donation process, and providing a more engaging user experience—all while supporting flexible, high-traffic fundraising events. A central aspect of this transformation involved the development of dynamic components and adaptable templates, enabling SickKids to efficiently create and update campaign-specific pages that resonate with donors.

Challenge

SickKids Foundation needed a modernized digital presence that would improve donor engagement, streamline fundraising efforts, and scale effectively during high-traffic campaigns. The existing website was limited in flexibility and lacked the ability to quickly create campaign-specific landing pages that matched the dynamic needs of ongoing fundraising. They sought a system that would allow them to leverage dynamic components and adaptable templates for rapid, visually engaging page creation, along with integration with their donation systems and advanced analytics to track donor engagement. 

Our Approach

Konabos led a holistic digital transformation with SickKids Foundation, centered around enhancing brand engagement and user experience. We worked with SKF team on redesigning the brand identity and website to create an inviting and intuitive platform that fosters deeper donor connections. A significant part of our approach was developing a streamlined system for dynamic landing page creation, enabling SickKids to quickly design campaign-specific pages with adaptable content, visuals, and testimonials—all geared towards promoting their mission. 


In line with SickKids’ vision for personalized donor engagement, we integrated features for tailored user journeys based on past donations, which has reinforced donor loyalty and boosted interaction rates. Additionally, we incorporated seamless integration with SickKids’ donation platform to optimize the user journey, ensuring a straightforward path from campaign exposure to donation completion. Real-time campaign analytics provide insight into campaign success, allowing for data-driven adjustments. Our implementation of cloud infrastructure, coupled with automated deployment processes, allows SickKids to scale easily for high-traffic campaigns and bring initiatives to market faster. This end-to-end digital transformation empowered SickKids Foundation to amplify their reach and drive healthcare innovation. 

Results

The impact of the transformation was substantial, with SickKids Foundation achieving a 36% increase in annual donations, reaching $230 million CAD annually. The flexibility afforded by dynamic components and adaptable templates allowed the Foundation to efficiently launch, manage, and optimize campaign-specific pages, leading to better engagement and enhanced donor experiences. 


As a result, campaigns could be created and launched within minutes using a no-code approach, requiring no intervention or deployments from developers or the IT team. With this agile, scalable digital platform, SickKids Foundation is now well-positioned to rapidly adapt to new fundraising needs, effectively track campaign success, and drive future growth in pediatric healthcare innovation.
